The Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board (HRMPEB) marked a transformative milestone on 10th December 2025 by signing a historic Dual Certification Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tharaka University. The signing ceremony was led by HRMPEB CEO CHRP Margaret Nguu and Prof. Veronicah Nyaga, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Research and Student Affairs who headed the Tharaka University delegation.
This milestone positions Tharaka University as the pioneer institution under HRMPEB’s Dual Certification initiative, an innovative model that enables students to graduate with both a university degree and the CHRP professional qualification through a fully integrated learning pathway. With more than 60 accredited institutions across the country awaiting this model, the partnership sets a national precedent for academic and professional synergy.
The dual certification model is poised to attract more universities to offer CHRP, accelerate revenue growth, enhance career prospects for HR professionals, and strengthen HRMPEB’s competitive standing locally and globally. It is anchored on a strong national justification: expanding access for young candidates to professionalize their HR careers and giving graduates a stronger competitive edge. The model also unlocks the country’s largest untapped CHRP talent pool, university HRM students who have historically been disconnected from professional certification pathways.
HRMPEB now invites other universities and colleges to embrace this transformative model as the country moves toward a future where HR graduates enter the workforce academically prepared, professionally certified, and globally competitive.
