Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday travelled to Lagos, Nigeria, to attend the prestigious Future Africa Leaders Awards ceremony, his office has said.
In a press statement released on December 31, Wiper Patriotic Front Head of Communications Ms. Paloma Gatabaki confirmed that Musyoka will attend the event as an honoured guest following an invitation from the organisers led by African Leaders Awards founder Chikki Onigbanjo. The ceremony is set to take place at the Loveworld Nation Arena at Asese Base in Lagos.
According to the statement, Musyoka’s invitation recognises his long standing record in leadership and his recent international accolades. These include his recognition as Africa Political Leader and Personality of the Year during the 10th Anniversary of the London Political Summit and Awards.
The Future Africa Leaders Awards celebrate young Africans who are making exceptional contributions across various sectors on the continent. The initiative highlights innovation, excellence and positive transformation, values the organisers say are critical to shaping Africa’s future.
The statement further notes that Musyoka’s participation underscores his continued commitment to pan African unity, youth empowerment and the promotion of leadership excellence across the continent.
The Future Africa Leaders Award, commonly known as FALA, is an annual initiative that recognises 10 outstanding African youths who have made significant contributions within their local communities.
The award honours young leaders for innovation, advocacy, social education, and the development of solutions to address local and global societal challenges.
Each recipient receives a grant of 10,000 US dollars, while one overall outstanding winner is awarded an additional 25,000 US dollars. Since its inception, the programme has recognised 110 youths from 28 African countries, selected from thousands of entries reviewed annually.
