Leaders and residents in Njabini have welcomed notable improvements at Njabini Health Centre, praising area Member of Parliament Hon. Kwenya Thuku for his support in driving key development initiatives.
The community commended the MP for spearheading the construction of a laboratory at the facility and pushing for road upgrades to improve access to essential services.
Speaking on behalf of the facility’s management committee, Treasurer Joyce expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their commitment to the health centre’s progress. She recalled that committee members initially lacked direction but received the guidance needed to get started.
“We were unsure where to begin, but after seeking assistance, we were guided and supported. We are grateful for the progress made and remain hopeful that this momentum will continue,” she said.
Joyce also acknowledged the government’s role in establishing the facility, noting that it has significantly improved access to healthcare for local residents.
Njabini Health Centre Chairman Peter Mwagi Maina echoed her sentiments, highlighting Hon. Thuku’s contribution to advancing development in the area.
Leaders further pointed to ongoing infrastructure upgrades, particularly along the Njabini–Gatura Road. Hon. Thuku has proposed extending one section of the road to the health centre to enhance access, while another stretch connecting to Mt. Kinangop Secondary School has already been completed, improving mobility in the region.
Residents noted that poor road conditions previously made it difficult to access essential services. The recent upgrades have reduced travel time and eased movement, especially for patients seeking medical care.
The community expressed optimism that continued collaboration between the government, local leaders, and residents will drive further improvements in healthcare and infrastructure in Njabini.
