The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing policy, legal and regulatory reforms aimed at strengthening investor confidence and positioning Kenya as a leading destination for international financial services.

Speaking at the Nairobi International Financial Centre (NIFC) Horizon Forum 2026, National Treasury Principal Secretary, Dr. Chris Kiptoo, who represented Cabinet Secretary (CS) John Mbadi, said the Government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for international financial businesses to establish and expand their operations in Kenya.

The PS noted that Kenya’s financial and insurance activities recorded an average annual growth rate of 9 per cent between 2022 and 2025, contributing an average of 7.8 per cent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He observed that growing global interest in Africa presents significant opportunities for Kenya, with Nairobi well-positioned to attract international investors and strengthen its role as a regional financial hub.

Discussions at the forum also focused on opportunities to mobilise capital at scale, deepen financial markets and channel investments into productive sectors that create jobs and drive economic growth.

Other speakers underscored the importance of collaboration among Government, the private sector and other stakeholders in strengthening Kenya’s financial infrastructure and enhancing the country’s competitiveness as an international financial services destination.

The forum, held at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in Nairobi, was organised by the Nairobi International Financial Centre in collaboration with the National Treasury and supported by Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), the Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund, among other partners.
