Residents of Makueni County will now enjoy longer access to government services after Huduma Kenya extended the operating hours of the Makueni Huduma Centre from 7:00am to 7:00pm, effective Monday, July 20, 2026.
The extension, announced by the Huduma Kenya Secretariat, makes Makueni the 21st Huduma Centre in the country to adopt extended service hours, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving access to public services and enhancing convenience for citizens.
In a statement issued on Monday, Huduma Kenya said the new operating hours are designed to cater to the needs of Makueni residents, many of whom depend on farming, horticulture and small-scale trade for their livelihoods.
The agency noted that the extended schedule will enable farmers to access government services before heading to their farms, while traders and horticultural producers will be able to visit the centre in the evening without interrupting their businesses.
Huduma Kenya said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to deliver more inclusive, efficient and citizen-centred public services across the country.
With Makueni joining the programme, 21 Huduma Centres nationwide now operate from 7:00am to 7:00pm on weekdays, giving Kenyans greater flexibility in accessing essential government services.
The agency urged residents of Makueni and neighbouring counties to take advantage of the extended operating hours, saying the move is intended to ensure government services are more accessible and responsive to the needs of citizens.
