KFC Brings Kentucky Town Festival to Kenya With Local Menu and Fashion Collection

KFC has launched its Kentucky Town 254 festival in Kenya, introducing a Kenyan-inspired menu, a locally designed fashion collection and a series of weekend pop-up events in Nairobi.

The festival, which runs from October 20 to November 15, 2026, marks the first rollout of the Kentucky Town concept in East Africa. The initiative combines limited-edition food offerings with entertainment and merchandise developed in partnership with Kenyan fashion house home_254.

Dorothy Muthoni, chief marketing officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, KFC’s franchisee in Kenya, said the campaign was designed to incorporate local tastes and culture rather than simply adapt the festival’s name for the Kenyan market.

“We didn’t want to bring Kentucky Town to Kenya and simply put a Kenyan name on it. We wanted Kenya to have a say in what Kentucky Town becomes,” she said.

The limited-time menu, available at selected KFC outlets, includes the Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, Kentucky Choma Burger, Samosa Crunch, Catch These Masala Fries, Birthday Cake Krusher and One in a Melon Krusher.

The festival will also feature four weekend pop-up events at Nairobi shopping malls, offering games, music, interactive activities and access to the exclusive apparel collection.

The events will run from October 23 to 25 at The Junction Mall, October 30 to November 1 at Galleria Shopping Mall, November 6 to 8 at The Hub Karen, and November 13 to 15 at Garden City Mall.

Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at participating KFC restaurants can use their receipts to gain access to the pop-up experiences. The first 100 visitors to the October 23 event will receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch.

Activities will include dance challenges, virtual reality gaming, basketball games, photography and caricature drawing.

The apparel collection, co-created with home_254, features T-shirts, crop tops, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets. The pieces are designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally.

Job Brian Jura, founder of home_254, said the partnership was intended to showcase Kenyan creativity through wearable designs.

“Everything is designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally, so a Kentucky Town piece carries a little bit of home long after the campaign ends,” he said.

Kenyan content creators and influencers, including Kendi Q, comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, will promote the campaign through social media and appearances at the pop-up events.

Kentucky Town originated in South Africa and has previously been held in Namibia and Mauritius. Kenya is KFC’s second-largest African market after South Africa, with 48 franchise-owned restaurants.

Hloni Mohope, chief marketing officer at KFC Africa, said the festival was intended to introduce customers to new food offerings and experiences while rewarding existing customers for their support.

The campaign extends KFC’s use of food, entertainment and fashion collaborations to engage consumers beyond its restaurants.
