TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has launched the New Generation TotalEnergies Card, a mobility and payment solution designed to give businesses, fleet managers and individual motorists greater control, convenience, security and visibility over their mobility-related expenses.
For more than 25 years, the TotalEnergies Card has been a key tool for fleet managers and individual customers in Kenya. Introduced as the Bon Voyage Fuel Card, it was the first fuel card in Kenya and the first to incorporate chip technology for enhanced security.
The card has evolved over the years from a fuel payment tool into a broader mobility solution, incorporating digital payment and fleet management features.
TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Managing Director Thibault Flichy said businesses increasingly require greater visibility and control over fuel expenditure as they seek to manage rising operating costs and improve efficiency.
“Businesses today need greater visibility and control over their fuel expenditure than traditional payment methods can provide. Kenyan businesses are thus increasingly seeking digital tools to improve financial cost oversight and operational efficiency to manage rising operating costs and maintain profitability,” said Flichy.
He said the New Generation TotalEnergies Card combines secure digital payments, real-time transaction monitoring and simplified tax-compliant invoicing on a single platform, enabling businesses to make better decisions and strengthen oversight of one of their major operating expenses.
The new solution introduces several features aimed at improving convenience and security.
They include two digital payment options, namely the Mobility Pay mobile application and a virtual card using one-time passwords (OTP), which is designed to work even on phones without internet connectivity.
The card also provides real-time SMS and email alerts for transactions and anomalies, while an enhanced customer portal allows users to monitor accounts in real time and set transaction limits.
A pre-authorisation mode enables customers to control and accurately manage fuel dispensing at service stations, while security is strengthened through PIN codes, RFID vehicle tags and one-time passwords for the mobile application and virtual card.
The solution also provides simplified tax-compliant invoicing and can be used across the TotalEnergies service station network for products and services.
According to TotalEnergies, customers adopting the two cardless options, the mobile application and virtual card, can reduce their reliance on physical cards while benefiting from a more flexible digital payment experience.
The company said the New Generation TotalEnergies Card is part of its continued efforts to provide technology-driven mobility solutions that respond to the changing needs of businesses and individual motorists.
Customers can apply for the New Generation TotalEnergies Card through the TotalEnergies Kenya website, while Matatu and Boda Boda customers can apply at TotalEnergies service stations countrywide.
