SanlamAllianz Profit Rises 21% as Insurer Rewards Key Partners

Sanlam Allianz General Insurance (Kenya) Limited has honoured its agents, bancassurance partners and brokers at its Annual Excellence Awards gala in Nairobi, recognising their contribution to the insurer’s improved financial performance, with top performers winning trips to China and Diani.

The insurer reported a 21 per cent increase in profit after tax in 2025, alongside growth in insurance revenue, as it continued integrating Jubilee Allianz and Sanlam General.

Profit before tax rose to KSh344 million in 2025, up from KSh284 million the previous year, while insurance revenue increased to KSh7.9 billion from KSh7.4 billion.

The company said the integration had strengthened its balance sheet and internal capabilities, while improvements in IT systems, processes and staff skills were helping enhance customer experience.

The awards gala was held at the company’s head office in Westlands, Nairobi.

Chief Executive Officer George Kuria said the results reflected renewed business momentum and growing confidence in the insurer’s brand and market approach.

“These achievements reflect renewed momentum in the business and growing confidence in our brand and market approach,” Kuria said.

He said the integration had brought together deeper expertise, stronger capabilities and broader experience, enabling the company to better serve customers and business partners.

Kuria identified growing the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) segment as a key priority, saying the insurer would focus on providing simple and relevant solutions to businesses while improving customer experience.

He described agents, bancassurance partners and brokers as central to the company’s achievements, crediting their contribution to its growth and recovery.

Seven agents won trips to China, while 12 others secured getaways to Diani, on Kenya’s coast. Additional agents were recognised for consistency, discipline and commitment to customers.

The awards covered several categories for the insurer’s distribution partners.

Agents were recognised in the Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Agent of the Year categories, while bancassurance partners competed for awards in Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Bank of the Year.

The broker awards featured five categories: Retention Champions, Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Rising Stars. The Rising Stars category recognised emerging local insurance talent.

The ceremony comes in the year SanlamAllianz completed its regional rebrand following last year’s merger.

The company said the awards reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with its agents, bancassurance partners and brokers as it pursues further growth through the remainder of 2026.
