Airtel Money customers can now make payments directly to DTB Till Moja merchants following a new partnership designed to give Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) more flexible and convenient payment options.
The collaboration also enables customers to deposit money straight from their Airtel Money wallets into DTB accounts. This upgrade allows users to send money, pay bills, and manage their finances instantly and securely on their mobile phones without visiting a bank branch or payment outlet. Customers will additionally benefit from a 50 percent guaranteed cashback in airtime on all Paybill payments, enhancing both value and affordability.
Airtel Money Kenya Managing Director Anne Kinuthia-Otieno said the enhancement aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting seamless financial transactions across the country.
“Customers have previously been able to send funds to DTB accounts, and this new feature now extends that convenience to DTB Till Moja merchants, creating even more value for our customers and for small businesses,” she said.
She added that simplifying transactions helps remove barriers to financial inclusion and strengthens Kenya’s transition to a more inclusive digital economy.
The partnership also aims to widen access to financial services, particularly for customers in rural and underserved regions who depend on mobile money for everyday transactions. It provides more affordable and accessible ways to save and transact.
DTB Director of Retail Banking George Otiende said the bank is focused on offering versatile payment solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
“This partnership with Airtel Money is a step forward in removing barriers to accessing banking services, especially for SMEs and individuals who rely on mobile money for convenience. By expanding the ways our customers can pay, save, and transact, we are making banking more inclusive, flexible, and accessible for everyone,” he said.
