Pradeep Chaurasiya has been appointed Business Head of Africa for International Business at TVS Motor Company, marking a new chapter in his eight-year career with the company on the continent.
Chaurasiya announced the appointment while reflecting on his journey at the company, which began with responsibility for one African country and has since expanded to overseeing business operations across more than 50 countries.
“Eight years ago, I started with TVS in Africa with just one country. Today, I’m privileged to lead our journey across a continent of 50+ countries,” he said.
He said understanding Africa’s diverse markets, cultures and business practices had been central to his growth, noting that the continent requires different approaches to meet the needs of its varied customer base.
“Africa is not one market. It is many, each with its own people, culture, and way of doing business. Every step taught me something,” he said.
In markets such as Kenya, understanding customers’ transport needs and the role of mobility in supporting livelihoods remains important in building lasting business relationships.
Chaurasiya said learning, curiosity and experimentation would continue to guide him in his new role, adding that his experience had involved testing new approaches, learning from mistakes and building on successful strategies.
He also acknowledged the role of customers, distributors, business partners, colleagues and mentors in the company’s growth across Africa.
He thanked customers for making TVS part of their daily lives and livelihoods, describing distributors and business partners as key contributors to the company’s expansion in local markets.
Chaurasiya further credited colleagues for their ideas, hard work and support, while recognising mentors for their guidance, feedback and confidence in his abilities.
Looking ahead, he said he would build on the experience gained over the past eight years by maintaining a commitment to listening, humility and innovation.
“I’m excited about what lies ahead, and committed to building on this foundation with humility, with listening, and with the same spirit of experimentation that got us here,” he said.
